I think I must have good karma (knock on wood) ...okay, and maybe I'm a bit superstitious too. But I've totally lucked out in life in so many ways. I'm able to stay at home with the kids, have a wonderful husband and extended family, and have great network of friends. So the karma thing...somehow I've been crossing paths with such giving people. So to keep my good karma up, I like to give back when I can.
"K" posted on one of the online groups that I'm part of. She was coming out to LA (from the Midwest) and wanted some family pics on the beach. She wanted them somewhere between Manhattan Beach and Malibu (check). She was looking for someone just starting out (check). And she wanted to have some rocks in the background (so I drove around scoping different beach locations). How could I not email her saying that I would do it? It was just calling out to me. So after many emails and phone calls, we finally met in person at the beach. "K" and her husband and 3 year old daughter "m" were just the most adorable family. I mean, check out "m's" curls and big blue eyes. Here are a few from our fun evening at the beach.
Oh did I mention that they were great sports too? Within the first 5 minutes of shooting, a wave came and filled the cuffs of "K's" jeans with water... but let the shoot go on...
If you were wondering where "m" got her curls, look no further...
"K" and I email all the time now...seems we're both up late on the computer. She even had a canvas made of another family pic I took...yay!
My first real photo shoot with strangers (check).
