We just got back yesterday from a 3 night trip to Big Bear (just about the closest snow area from LA). We piled 3 families with total of 6 kids between the ages of 1 and 5 into a 3 bedroom cabin. Did you do the math? But Sunday I think everyone was ready to head home... except me! I enjoyed all the good company and even went out snowboarding for the first time in 5 years! That was super fun. I should have brought my little camera to document me on a snowboard with pigtails.
I also tried out a new lens this weekend. A friend let me borrow his and now I'm having a hard time giving it back. I actually just baked some of my favorite lemon sugar cookies (recipe from the 1950's Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys and Girls). to thank Peggy and Peter for lending me the camera and a bunch of ski clothes for the kids. Thanks!
Here are some pics with that fancy lens I might be buying soon.

My niece has the darkest and thickest lashes and bluest eyes!

ooo, nice photos. Must be the camera. :-) The first picture of your niece has some nice out of focus background (yeah, bokeh, but it's a tight crop so there isn't much bokeh to speak of, not a bad thing ...), which helps the subject stand out a bit. Did you take that wide open?
The cookies were great, thanks.
Yep, that first one was your lens, my camera at 2.8.
Ooo...glad you liked the cookies...let me know if you want the recipe. :)
