greetings from sunny (and foggy) los angeles, ca

Hi, I'm heather. I like taking pictures. I take a lot of them. I stay up way too late. I wake up with my kids way too early (for me). Though slowly I'm learning that sleep is good.

I love photographing newborns, toddlers, kids (I've got two of my own), families, pets...you name it! Large groups and weddings make me way too nervous, but I'd be happy to refer you to other photographers in the area.

I love to hear your comments, so feel free to add to my blog by posting. Having a hard time remembering "umami?" Well, I wanted a name that would be easy to remember, spell and find, but apparently I did none of that, so if you'd like to get emails when I post, just add your email to the "subscribe here" box... you'll be the first to find out when I'll be offering mini sessions and other specials!

have a happy day... heather

i love woo!

add me to the list of those who love woo!
her website: ilovewoo.com

I met up with Staci a couple weeks ago to take a few shots of this clothes designer/ business owner hanging out in her work space. Oh, did I mention that she's 8 months pregnant? Well, coming up on 9 months now, and she just looks like she boarded the Hot Tamale Train (sorry So You Think You Can Dance is the only show I've been watching lately).... skinny arms, basketball belly, glowing face, and still the laid back attitude. She's just so fun to hang out with... I just kept shooting away so we could keep chatting it up.

After our photoshoot, I parked my car in front of her building so I could load my ladder and reflector (didn't really use them, I just wanted to look like I knew what I was doing). Well, when I arrived earlier in the day, the light was pounding the front of her building (not so good for portraits), but by the time I packed my ladder away, the light was much much better, so I had Staci grab her husband so I could capture the family before their new addition arrives...we even managed to get doggie pablo flashing a smile.

All the best for an easy and smooth delivery! And a baby like you, made up of equal parts: chill and fabulous!
