greetings from sunny (and foggy) los angeles, ca

Hi, I'm heather. I like taking pictures. I take a lot of them. I stay up way too late. I wake up with my kids way too early (for me). Though slowly I'm learning that sleep is good.

I love photographing newborns, toddlers, kids (I've got two of my own), families, name it! Large groups and weddings make me way too nervous, but I'd be happy to refer you to other photographers in the area.

I love to hear your comments, so feel free to add to my blog by posting. Having a hard time remembering "umami?" Well, I wanted a name that would be easy to remember, spell and find, but apparently I did none of that, so if you'd like to get emails when I post, just add your email to the "subscribe here" box... you'll be the first to find out when I'll be offering mini sessions and other specials!

have a happy day... heather

So I'm looking through all the photos I took of this family last weekend. Okay, I think some fabulous magazine needs to give this family a call... seriously, look at this gorgeous family (inside and out) - they could all be models (without the drama)! And please take note... the orange dress with the boys' blue outfits. I LOVED! How great do they look? They're not all wearing the exact same thing, instead they're coordinated with a little zing!

I got word that John wanted to sneak out of the photo session early so he could play some pick up basketball, so I tried to snap all the family photos at the beginning...and I think it paid off. The kids rocked it and so did Beverly and John! Lots of smiles and cuteness. After Dad left, I took some shots of Mom and the boys. And the older boy Calvin totally hammed it up for me (without too many fake smiles either). While baby brother Luke was having a snack (and starting the melt down), Calvin and I hung out while he posed for me. So fun!

Since Beverly is uber-organized and already planning her Christmas cards (it is not too early), I'm not going to show most of the family they'll be a surprise on her holiday card. But I wanted to post some fun ones!

mom and the boys

oh's the angel face

wise monkey...

or silly monkey?

luke - he's the just cuddliest little guy!

Check out their fridge! We tried a little a little retro June and Ward Cleaver shot, but I think next time we'll put John in the apron serving up the food!

Who do we love? MOMMY!

Now can you see why John wanted to get out and play some basketball? This is why people fight the traffic to live in Southern California.
