greetings from sunny (and foggy) los angeles, ca

Hi, I'm heather. I like taking pictures. I take a lot of them. I stay up way too late. I wake up with my kids way too early (for me). Though slowly I'm learning that sleep is good.

I love photographing newborns, toddlers, kids (I've got two of my own), families, pets...you name it! Large groups and weddings make me way too nervous, but I'd be happy to refer you to other photographers in the area.

I love to hear your comments, so feel free to add to my blog by posting. Having a hard time remembering "umami?" Well, I wanted a name that would be easy to remember, spell and find, but apparently I did none of that, so if you'd like to get emails when I post, just add your email to the "subscribe here" box... you'll be the first to find out when I'll be offering mini sessions and other specials!

have a happy day... heather

jacky jack

Let's see... jack had the week off from school and has been sick since Sat and no longer naps. Can you say, "LONG WEEK?" Matt even took part of Monday off and I'm still d.r.a.g.g.i.n.g. My main excitement for the week was having a sitter come over so I could leave the house at 6pm to go to a photography seminar last night. Woo hoo! Am I a nerd or what?

I think I'm fighting whatever bug jack has, so I'm going to call it an early night. But before I sign off, I wanted to drop off a few random pics of Jack from January.

Did I mention that Jack has been wearing an eye patch 2 hours a day for the last 12 weeks? He's farsighted in his left eye and sees 20/20 with his right eye. Apparently he had stopped using his bad eye and was relying more and more on his good eye... so patching the good eye forces him to use his bad one... so far it's been working.

Hey, this pic is almost like his new hairdo pic...I've got to come up with some real poses... like I'm sure Jack will go for that. You've got to love the moose shirt, hotwheels sticker and the I'm-all-jazzed-to-sing-We-Wish-You-a-Merry-Christmas-in-January-fist.

Have a great weekend!!!

Cool that the patch is working. My opthamologist specializes in therapy like that for adults and kids....

We go back tomorrow to the eye doc to see if there's been more improvement, or if he'll have to start wearing the patch for longer than 2 hours a day. Fingers crossed!
